Our client, a music and entertainment group with c 50 staff and a number of offices around the world are currently looking to recruit an accounts assistant to support the finance manager, as well as the wider team and business, across multiple entities. The candidate should have experience working across a wide range of duties in the accounts function, from primary transaction entry to financial statements. Duties:

  • Ensure accounts across all companies are updated weekly - process sales invoices, purchase invoices, credit cards and bank accounts
  • Manage company cards across all entities - ensure receipts and invoices for all card transactions contain adequate company information and process accordingly
  • Maintain adequate electronic files for all bank and card transactions
  • Staff expenses - ensuring these are captured correctly and adequate receipts provided
  • Weekly supplier (incl. expenses) and deadline payments (tax, rent etc)
  • Preparing monthly accrual, prepayment and foreign exchange journals
  • Prepare monthly or ad-hoc account reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly client and intercompany recharges
  • Prepare ad-hoc internal excel reports
  • Reviewing monthly transactions ensuring correct VAT has been applied
  • Assisting the finance manager during month end reporting, willing to work longer hours during this time if necessary
  • Updating budgets and cashflows monthly

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a similar role
  • Xero accounts software desirable
  • Working with and understanding of financial statements
  • VAT preparation

Skills:

  • AAT Qualified or ACCA / CIMA part qualified
  • Good computer literacy (advanced excel, MS Office, PowerPoint) essential
  • Microsoft Office package intermediate level minimum
  • Highly organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to deal
  • Team player and flexible attitude to achieve result
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Multi-tasking, managing own workload and working within company deadlines
  • Experience within the music industry desired but not essential
