Private Client Tax Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and technically strong Private Client Tax Manager to join our established Private Client Tax team. This position offers a dynamic mix of personal tax compliance oversight and complex advisory work for a high-profile client portfolio.
You will act as the key client manager for a diverse range of clients—primarily with international affairs—including High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) users, trust settlors, and beneficiaries.
Working closely with Directors and Partners, you will deliver exceptional client service while actively contributing to business development and team progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio & Client Management: Serve as the primary contact for a diverse international client portfolio, managing relationships, expectations, and day-to-day queries.
- Compliance Oversight: Oversee end-to-end tax compliance services, including information gathering, reviewing tax returns prepared by trainees, submitting returns to HMRC, and managing WIP/billing.
- Advisory Services: Deliver varied and challenging tax planning and advisory solutions under the guidance of Partners and Directors.
- Business Development & Marketing: Support firm growth by writing technical tax articles, producing client updates, identifying planning opportunities, and attending networking events.
- Technical & Team Support: Provide internal technical tax advice to colleagues, coach junior team members, and review trainee work to support continuous learning.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: ATT qualified and ideally CTA qualified with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience within a UK professional services firm. (CTA qualification or willingness to complete is a bonus).
- Technical Experience: Solid experience advising international private clients, HNWIs, and trusts on UK tax matters.
- Software Proficiency: Excellent IT skills, ideally with hands-on experience using Digita.
- Practice Management: Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities, strict deadlines, and financial metrics (WIP/billing).
- Communication & BD: Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the commercial mindset to spot planning opportunities and support firm marketing.
