As an Audit Semi Senior, you will:
- Assist with and complete audits from planning through to completion in accordance with prescribed procedures, servicing a varied portfolio of Owner-Managed Businesses (OMBs) and SMEs.
- Produce detailed audit planning documents, identify potential technical difficulties, and ensure the correct audit tests are applied to gather sufficient evidence.
- Allocate specific audit cycles to junior staff members, providing clear briefs, ongoing technical guidance, and coaching on-site.
- Monitor job progress closely to ensure deadlines and budgets are effectively managed, completing final analytical reviews and drafting client summary letters.
- Produce and review comprehensive sets of financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP before passing them to senior team members.
- Evaluate the performance of junior staff on jobs, providing constructive feedback and completing formal audit review forms upon assignment completion.
As the successful candidate you will:
- Be actively studying towards your ICAS or ACCA qualification with proven audit experience gained within a public practice environment.
- Demonstrate solid up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards.
- Possess strong planning, completion, and analytical skills, alongside previous experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
- Be computer literate with strong Excel skills; experience using CaseWare (accounts and audit) is highly advantageous but not essential.
