VAT Director responsibilities

Managing the delivery of complex VAT advisory engagements and supporting Partners with the strategic vision of the department.
Producing bespoke technical VAT advisory reports and providing reasoned analysis on complex goods and services movements.
Identifying and developing commercial opportunities through proactive networking and business development to grow the regional VAT pipeline.
Overseeing the professional development of the Norwich team, reviewing technical advice, and managing departmental WIP and billing.

As the successful candidate you will

Have significant experience undertaking VAT advisory work within a professional services or accountancy practice environment.
Demonstrate strong people management skills with a proven ability to mentor junior staff and manage high-level client relationships.
Be CTA qualified (ideally via the indirect tax route) with a genuine academic interest in the evolving VAT landscape.
Possess the commercial acumen to identify VAT risks and quantify solutions for clients across property, charities, and international trade.
