Accounts Assistant – 8 Partner Firm – Edinburgh

Are you an experienced practice accountant looking to step into a client-facing role with an established, growing independent firm?

This 8 Partner Firm operates across Central Scotland, offering a full range of accounting, business advisory, and tax solutions to SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and individuals. Operating in close-knit, collaborative teams, the firm focuses on nurturing talent and delivering tailored digital accounting services across the region.

As an Accounts Assistant you will:

Prepare financial statements for a diverse portfolio of limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with FRS 102 Section 1A.
Produce periodic management accounts and management information for key SME clients.
Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns alongside statutory accounts preparation.
Liaise directly with clients and HMRC to resolve queries and deliver proactive business advisory support.

As the successful candidate you will:

Hold a minimum of 2 years’ recent experience working within an accountancy practice.
Be AAT/ACCA/ICAS part-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE).
Demonstrate hands-on experience in preparing FRS 102 Section 1A statutory accounts.
Have practical exposure to corporate and personal tax compliance within a practice environment.
