This established independent accountancy practice has a team of over 30 professionals, providing accountancy, audit, tax and business advisory services to a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses across Northamptonshire.

Working within a supportive team structure, you will gain exposure to different areas of accountancy and taxation, with the opportunity to develop towards a client-facing management position or specialise in areas such as audit or tax.

Responsibilities

Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
Assist with audit assignments, bookkeeping, VAT returns and other accounting compliance services.
Manage your own workload, ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines and budgets.
Liaise with senior colleagues on client assignments, identifying technical issues and recommending practical solutions.
Monitor assignment budgets and recoverability, highlighting potential variances and opportunities to improve efficiency.
Build relationships with clients, responding to queries and supporting their ongoing accounting and tax requirements.
Support and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate, sharing technical knowledge and assisting with their development.

As an Accountant you will:

Be ACA or ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified, or hold an equivalent accountancy qualification.
Have experience preparing statutory accounts and tax computations within a UK accountancy practice.
Ideally have exposure to VAT, bookkeeping and audit assignments, although experience across every area is not essential.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of UK accounting standards and relevant tax compliance requirements.
Be comfortable managing your own workload, meeting deadlines and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
Have strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Be keen to develop your technical knowledge and progress towards greater client responsibility or a specialist role.
