This established 4 Director Firm based in Basildon supports a broad and vibrant portfolio of SME clients, growing businesses, corporate groups, academies, and charities across Essex and the South East. Renowned for its consultative approach and people-first working atmosphere, the practice offers dynamic practice professionals direct client ownership, exposure to specialized audit sectors, and clear direct pathway progression into senior leadership.

Responsibilities

As an Accounts & Audit Senior you will:

Manage a varied client portfolio, leading on statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and statutory audit assignments.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of accounts and taxation assignments (approx. 70%), preparing year-end accounts and CT600 tax returns for a diverse SME client base.
Lead FRS 102 statutory audit fieldwork (approx. 30%), including specialist academy and charity audits, from planning through to completion.
Act as the main point of contact for client queries, developing strong, trusted relationships and delivering practical commercial advice.
Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback to support their technical development.
Utilize leading accounting and audit software systems including Caseware, BTC, Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage to streamline delivery.

What You’ll Receive
