This 5 Director Firm is an established independent accountancy practice with a close-knit team of fewer than 20 professionals, providing audit, accountancy and tax services to a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.

Responsibilities

Lead statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion, working with a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
Manage audit fieldwork, ensuring assignments are completed efficiently, within agreed deadlines and to a high technical standard.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong relationships and resolving day-to-day audit queries.
Prepare and review audit working papers, applying UK GAAP, FRS 102 and relevant auditing standards.
Carry out substantive audit testing, identifying key risks and escalating technical matters where appropriate.
Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and sharing technical knowledge.
Work closely with Managers and Directors to deliver high-quality audits and contribute to the development of the department.

As an Audit Senior you will:

Be ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, with solid external audit experience gained within accountancy practice.
Have experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102, particularly audits of medium-sized companies.
Be confident performing substantive audit procedures and identifying key audit risks.
Have strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and keep Managers informed of audit progress.
Be organised, proactive and comfortable managing your own workload within a smaller practice.
Ideally have some experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations, although this is not essential.
